Guinea Fowl Coop - Camper Conversion

continued...

photograph of Camper Coop Door

The dimensnions of this Guinea fowl door are 14" x 19". It is constructed using 3/4" treated plywood and 2" x 2" rounded roost bars. The interior of the door is sealed with weather stripping to prevent drafts and moisture. If I had it to do over again, I would skip the roost bars on this entrance to the coop.

We call this the Guinea Jungle Gym. It's made of 2" x 4" lumber. It provides about 30 linear feet of Guinea fowl roosting and a support for the chicken wire top of the Guinea's pen. We have lots of birds of prey in our region, so a top for the guinea pen was necessary.

We purchased grade #3 studs at 97¢ each and then treated the entire structure with sealant before installing it. It was nailed together using 10 penny common nails. This Guinea fowl Jungle Gym provides about 30 linear feet of Guinea fowl roosting inside the Guinea pen. The four feet were cut at angles to allow the base to be driven into the ground for extra stability. Any part of the structure will support a 225 pound man - more than enough for even the beefiest of Guinea fowl!
